
Pork Fried Rice – Better Than Takeout!

Want a homemade, healthier alternative to takeaway? This pork fried rice is made with basic ingredients, is flavourful, and is quick to prepare. This recipe, which only requires one pan and takes 20 minutes to prepare, is ideal for using leftover pork and rice. For easy preparation, use it with our high-quality kitchen knives.
Ingredients (Serves 4):
2 cups cooked jasmine rice (day-old, chilled)
1 cup cooked pork (diced or shredded)
2 eggs (beaten)
1 cup mixed veggies (peas, carrots, corn)
3 cloves garlic (minced)
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp ginger (grated)
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 green onions (chopped)
Salt & pepper to taste
Utensils Needed:
A wok or large skillet is required for even heat distribution.
Chef's knife, sharp (for fast chopping)
Wooden spatula (used to stir)
Bowls for mixing
Time Needed:
Ten minutes for preparation
Ten minutes to cook
20 minutes in total.
Directions:
Prepare Ingredients: Green onions, garlic, and chopped pork. Using a bowl, beat eggs. To avoid mushiness, make sure the rice is chilled.
To make scrambled eggs:
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok. Scramble the eggs until they are set, then take them out.
Cook the pork and vegetables:
By adding the leftover oil and sautéing the ginger and garlic. Add the meat, vegetables, and stir-fry for three minutes.
Put Everything Together:
Add the rice, breaking up any lumps. Stir in sesame oil, oyster sauce, and soy sauce. Add scrambled eggs and stir.
Serve:
Add green onions on top to garnish and serve.
Optional:
For added spice, you can optionally drizzle with Sriracha!
